Its cool to see more tuning companies embrace current web tech to reach their audience. Online video may be one of the best ways to accomplish this. Check for yourself as they have a little bit of fun in the M3 sporting Continental tires.
They guys at Vorsteiner have been burning the midnight oil this holiday season; squeaking in at the close of 2009 they have released photos of their M-Tech Aero Package for BMW’s E92. Adding a more aggressive front chin spoiler and carbon fiber rear lower valence, Vorsteiner hones in even closer to the enthusiast’s vision of their ultimate 3 series.
WALD has been pushing out BMW wagon product as of late. I am not mad at them, they have really worked to carry over the aggressive styling of their 3 series aero package to the touring model. Please note that the leather treatment performed on the interior is outstanding as well. If your BMW 3 series has “extra junk in the trunk” I would seriously look into this package.
For those of you lucky enough to own a newer 5 series touring WALD has released a new front half valence and rear diffuser for your. This really adds a new aggressive depth to the 5 wagon. WALD jokingly states that the power adders will be up to you, but we are sure it won’t be too hard to find the power to match.
3DDesign is well known for their polished offerings for BMWs and Minis. Their latest includes a three gauge pod for BMW’s Z4. Positioned directly in front of the shifter, it allows a direct view of all three gauges to the driver. If you have made modifications to your Z4 that need monitoring, I would consider this as an option. 3DDesign has very similar units for other vehicle models.
The BMW 335i is one of the more tuneable non-M cars BMW has released in years. Its twin turbo inline 6 motor layout has been known to put out great numbers with just software alone; even more when hardware is introduced into the picture. Exhaust Manufacturer, Akrapovic, recently released their Evolution exhaust system for BMW’s 335i. The benefit of this titanum exhaust system are three fold; the unit comes in at a light weight 14.37 kilograms, performance increase of 12.4 HP and 16.4 Nm, and a more pronounced exhaust note.
Akrapovic provides a slip-on rear unit of this exhaust as well, The street legal slip-on unit provides an increase of 7.2 HP and 8.1 Nm of torque .The system is available for the E90, E91, E92.
The MazdaSpeed3 is a car loved by so many. Affordable, great power, compact, and aftermarket support. The first thing that most people ask is how much power can this make. Stoptech asks how fast can we stop it. They answer the question quite well with the release of their new big brake kit. Stoptech infused all of their racing experience into each of their parts and it shows. The kit consists of ”a pair of slotted or drilled floating directional AeroRotors with billet aluminum AeroHat, billet aluminum mounting brackets with stainless steel hubs, DOT-compliant stainless steel braided Teflon brake lines, high performance street pads and forged, high performance, patented calipers.” [source: stoptech]
Superchips has released their Superchips Bluefin Tuning chip for the BMW 123. The tune produces a 50 bhp increase as well as a 68 ft/lb increase in torque. Bluefin uses an easy to use plug and play design and has over 30 years experience in vehicle tuning and performance.
AC Schnitzer has had their engineers and designers in the kitchen this year, they have been cooking up some marvelous stuff. The newly redesigned Z4 is the most recent center of their attention with new aero and ECU tuning. BMW’s twin turbo inline six Z4 from the factory is a decent contender, the AC Schnitzer raises the bar raising the car’s output to 360HP and an under 5 second 0-60 time.
AC Schnitzer’s aero package allows the looks of the car to reflect the unleashed power. The kit contains the following: chrome front grille, lower front valance, sports fenders with integrated air outlets for improved cooling of the front brakes, and a two-piece rear spoiler.
AC Schnitzer has extended once more with the release of the Type VIII wheel. In my opinion, this wheel has the DNA of the Type III at its core with a bold twist. The dark portions of the wheel really stand out. AC Schnitzer has stated that these wheels are for the BMW X5, X6, and 7 series. As you might assume from the list of aforementioned vehicles, these wheels are on the larger side (22″-23″ with widths between 9.5″- 12″).
