The S2000 has been around for a decade or so now, and we can say that it has paid its dues. Although it may not be a high horsepower prize fighter when compared to other available vehicles on the market, its fans enjoy it for the balanced and well rounded sports car experience. Today, Spoon announced the release of their sports muffler for the S2000; the sports muffler provides a streetable experience when compared to their already available N1 model. Made of SUS304 stainless steel and very durable, this muffler should be a consideration for those looking for an increase over stock with a manageable exhaust note.

Similar to the S2000 subframe kit released earlier by Spoon, the kit for the GE8 really cleans up things dramatically. The kit provides sleeves for the usual subframe bolts. The inclusion of these bolts greatly minimizes the lateral movements of the subframe, providing a much more stable vehicle.

Toda has put together a package for those of us running K24 motors of all varieties. Even those running K20 heads. The package includes two varieties of pistons raising the compression of the motor to either 13.1:1 or 13.2:1. Strengthen connecting rods have been included to ensure durability with the new found power. Two head gaskets were designed in order to properly mate DC5/EP3 and CL7/FD2/FN2 heads to the block.

When it comes to ‘necessity being the mother of all invention” spoon knows it all too well. Their latest for the S2000 is genius, the subframe kit is a piece that has you questioning why it wasn’t created earlier.
Rather than bolting the cars front and rear subframes directly on the chassis, Spoon has created collared sleeves that are used to minimize lateral subframe movements. Spoon states that the increased stiffness would be very similar to using a roll cage.

As most tuners know, in interference motors timing belts/timing chains hold the fate of your tune and motor’s well being within their grasp. Over time during normal operation factory chains are known to stretch modifying a motor’s timing . This issue is greatly exacerbated with the use of aftermarket camshafts and aggressive tunes. Several timing chain tensioners have been released to help maintain the slack of the chain. Toda has increased reliability even further with the introduction of their heavy duty timing chains. The chain has been engineer to “reduce chain stretching by as much as 35%”.

As with all Mugen product, you can expect OEM fitment and impeccable quality.
As Mugen’s principle stocklist in the UK, TDI should be your first stop in sourcing the kit.

It is hard not to notice the global trend of manufactures moving towards more eco-friendly vehicles. The amount of hybrid vehicles sold in Japan this year alone is amazing. With the bulk of the market swaying this way, we are seeing more and more aftermarket companies targeting this audience as well.
Kenstyle is one of the latest companies providing aero for the eco-conscious tuner. They recently released this amazing package for Honda’s new Insight, and it really transforms the look of the vehicle. The full consists of a front and rear lower spoilers, replacement grille, side skirts, and bonnet spoiler (an optional muffler is available).

Toda has been a staple of naturally aspirated japanese tuning for many years. Their parts span from power proven stroker kits to small parts that ensure the longevity of race motors during track duty. Their latest part is the later of the two. Toda noticed that the stock Denso part used on Honda’s starter motors became damaged in stroked and high compression instances. The new gear has been created to be much more durable to ensure damage does not occur.
The new gear is stated to work with the following Honda Vehicles: AP1/2, DC5, CL7-EuroR, FD1-2

Spoon is one of the world’s top Honda tuners. There products are completely functional and have allowed the company’s racing team to dominate their endurance racing class for several years. Spoon has released aero mirrors for the S2000, these units greatly increase visibility on both sides and appear to be much more aerodynamic than the stock units. These will fit both AP1 and AP2 body styles of the S2000.
